If you are afflicted with a mental, addictive, or physical illness, or are at the bottom of the pit of near despair not knowing if you will ever get well. With all your heart pray this psalm that is prayed today at mass.
I am sunk in the abysmal swamp where there is no foothold;
I have reached the watery depths; the flood overwhelms me.
I pray to you, O Lord, for the time of your favor O god!
In your great kindness answer me with your constant help.
But I am afflicted and in pain;
Let your saving help, O God, protect me;
I will praise the name of God in song,
and will glorify him with Thanksgiving.
Those of you who know these people don’t run away in fear for want of knowing what to do to help but don’t necessarily say words such as the following words to them. Rather be the Lord as described here, and listen. Love them, hope for them, and pray this part of the same prayer.
See you lonely ones, and be glad;
You seek the Lord, may your hearts revive!
For the Lord hears the poor,
And his own who are in bonds he spurns not.
All of you stand strong. The Lord does not forget. He does not fail to be present in love. He will come to your aid. All you have to do is be open to how He will do this. You who suffer, you who stand by then innocence and are suffering with them
Turn to the Lord in your need.
