“The Lord lifts up all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.” Psalm 145:14
We often hear the phrase, God is my parachute but imagine jumping from 25,000 feet without one. Not long ago I saw a video of a man do just that. The link is below.
I’m sure you’ve had periods in your life when you felt you were in a free-fall without hope of survival. Someone once described depression that way. He said it was like falling into a dark endless hole that became darker and darker the deeper he fell.
Grief can make you double over with actual physical pain. Panic attacks can overwhelm a person to the point of crouching to breathe. Scruples can torture the mind, making one cry out for relief.
The Lord can break our fall, or lift us up. Without a parachute, He is our net. He can stretch out his hand and pull us up off the floor. He can give us the strength needed to stand up and live another day. Call out to him.
“The Lord is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.” Psalm 145:18
